We have some massive news to celebrate in the Mash-Up universe!
Our brilliant co-founder, Amy S. Choi, has been selected as a 2026-2027 Visiting Fellow at the SNF Agora Institute at Johns Hopkins University.
The SNF Agora Institute brings together a phenomenal, diverse group of scholars, practitioners, and journalists to find ways to strengthen global democracy through civic engagement and open dialogue. This academic year, the institute is focusing heavily on “Democracy and the Media” – a space where Amy has spent her entire career innovating, challenging norms, and pushing boundaries.
For over a decade at The Mash-Up Americans, Amy has pioneered the kind of nuanced, cross-cultural storytelling that heals divisions, builds community, and helps us understand our beautifully complex world. We could not think of a more vital, empathetic voice to bring to this global stage to explore how media can actively sustain and elevate our collective future.
We are so incredibly proud of Amy and can’t wait to see the research, dialogue, and inspiration she sparks during her fellowship.
